In this update, we would like to share with you the progress we made on the development of our platform (yes the new release is almost there), the next AMA, and share insights on the rise of Mobility as a Service.

Melalie Update #16: The Rise of Mobility as a Service, Developer progress, AMA.

💻 Developer Progress

Our software development team always makes sure that our platform is developed using the highest industry standards. An important part of that is to make sure our community is always up to date.

As you know, we are always working on improving the technical foundations of the platform and developing new features. The aim of the upcoming release is to implement the support for multiple vehicles which allows vendors to rent out different types of vehicles.

As you know, we are working on the development of a new release of the platform. However, it’s not just features that we are pushing. In the last product development sprint, we have implemented and updated our unit testing, improved platform security, and updated the infrastructure the platform is running on. Ready to scale up!

The front-end of the Melalie Application is developed using React Native. In this upcoming sprint, we are migrating the models to MST and updated the application with the latest libraries.

🎨 Design Progress: Tested and revamped features.

Melalie users should get the best experience while using the Melalie App. Currently, our UX/UI experts are working on improving the overall design of the App.

What have we done so far?
We have created a completely new look and feel for the app. Our developers are currently implementing these design changes. They will be included in the new release of the app, which is ready in approximately 4 weeks.

Among the changes we implemented are new splash screens, re-designed the filters in the App, and a re-arranged checkout procedure!

🚗 🛴 🛵 The Rise of Mobility as a Service 🚗 🛴 🛵

In the last few years, we have seen significant disruptions in the transportation industry. The rise of the Mobility as a service (MaaS) economy is one of the strongest disruptions.

MaaS will be an important part of how people move around. Countries and cities are increasingly implementing rules and regulations to further boost the development and growth of this industry.

MaaS brings a lot of efficiencies as it helps to integrate the needs from customer journeys into a more user-friendly experience. Another main benefit is that via MaaS, we can decrease vehicle downtime. By doing so, MaaS is reducing pollution and congestion.

However, fast disruptions always come with a set of challenges. One of these challenges is that government frameworks are not always ready to adopt quick changes and achieve the full benefits of these new technologies and industries.

The good news is that Melalie provides a decentralized alternative in which people can easily get access to various transportation options to users nearby. Melalie offers a community-driven solution in which there is no middle man who aims to enrich himself by taking a position between demand and supply.
